His body is a glowing transit map with the heart at its centre. Cuts, infections, viruses, parasites and allergies appear along it, and every defender leaves from the heart. Pick a cell and hold on a problem: cells go out one at a time, and a ring shows the right amount. Too few and the germs win; far too many and the immune system overreacts. Zoom into the tissue to see unknown germs and dose precisely. Live through nine stages, from his first day to his last, as his marrow slows and his immune memory grows.
